Credit Control Specialist
Position Summary:
The Credit Control Specialist supports the Bank’s Commercial, Agricultural, and Consumer lending portfolios by performing daily credit control, loan administration, and monitoring activities. This role is responsible for overdraft management, past-due tracking, collections support, collateral documentation, appraisal review, and regulatory reporting.
Working under the direction of the Credit Control Supervisor, the Credit Control Specialist ensures that all credit administration tasks are completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The position focuses on execution, monitoring, documentation, and reporting, with exceptions and concerns escalated appropriately.
The level of this position is based on years of service, education and/or equivalent experience, knowledge level, and skill set.
Essential Functions:

1. Monitor daily overdrafts and prepare information for review and decisioning.
2. Support administration of the Overdraft Privilege (ODP) Program.
3. Preparing and distributing customer letters.
4. Supporting new account setup and ongoing monitoring.
5. Preparing lists for accounts not automatically enrolled.
6. Tracking opt-in/opt-out activity.
7. Supporting Fresh Start program activity.
8. Tracking and reconciling ODP income.
9. Prepare monthly overdraft-related reports for management.
10. Monitor past-due and matured loans using RMS and other reporting tools; escalate exceptions as needed.
11. Assist with servicing of elevated-risk or delinquent loan accounts.
12. Support the credit card past-due and default letter process.
13. Provide servicing support for Habitat for Humanity (H4H) loans, including invoicing and required reporting.
14. Support bankruptcy processing by tracking filings, maintaining loan status, and coordinating routine communications.
15. Support third-party collection processes, including submitting accounts, tracking activity, and posting payments (PCA and other agencies).
16. Review attorney invoices for accuracy and compliance; process loan charges when appropriate.
17. Support follow-through on attorney best practices, ensuring documentation and communication standards are met.
18. Maintain collateral inspection tracking for farm, construction, and other collateral types.
19. Review loan documentation to support lien perfection; identify and escalate deficiencies.
20. Monitor appraisal and title policy compliance to ensure adherence to Bank standards.
21. Generate portfolio, delinquency, overdraft, and risk reports as requested.
22. Update and maintain accurate customer and loan information in Bank systems.
23. Review tickler and exception reports and complete assigned follow-up actions.
24. Assist with internal, external, and regulatory audits by gathering documentation, completing assigned items, and tracking follow-up requests.
25. Perform all duties in compliance with Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
26. Process refund requests, ensuring documentation is complete and appropriate approvals are obtained.
27. Provide operational backup and cross-coverage to ensure continuity of Credit Control functions.
28. Attend required training, trade, and industry seminars.
29. Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
30. Perform other duties as assigned All employees are expected to exemplify and follow our core values.

32. Travel for trade and industry schools and seminars as needed.
33. This position may require installation of a Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) app on an employee’s personal mobile device. THE MFA apps are used to authenticate a user’s identity to the system for security purposes.
34. Adhere to and comply with all applicable, federal, and state laws, regulations, and guidance, including those related to BSA/AML, as well as adhere to the Bank’s policies and procedures.
35. Perform other duties as assigned and requested.

Education and Experience:
Required - High School diploma or GED.
Required - Continuing Education to maintain job knowledge.
Preferred - One to three years of banking experience in loan servicing, credit administration, or collections.
Preferred - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
